The Foster Care Association of the ACT works with foster carers, kinship carers and respite carers in the ACT. Our assistance is also available to carers who have ACT children or young people in care living in their households, who live outside the ACT.
We are carers helping carers, through:
Individual advocacy - you are not alone, no matter what the issue;
Peer support - we understand because we are carers too;
Learning and training opportunities – this gives better outcomes for everyone;
Lobbying to improve the system – we want a quality system and practices in caring;
- Ensuring the carer voice is heard – nothing about us, without us!
